Kafunta Safaris operates Kafunta River Lodge, a classic safari lodge, and Island Bush Camp, a small, personalised camp, both located in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia, adjacent to the South Luangwa National Park. For the more adventurous wildlife enthusiast we offer safaris that cover the whole of the Luangwa Valley including the Luambe National Park, North Luangwa National Park and, of course, the South Luangwa National Park.

Our Camps

Kafunta River Lodge

Kafunta River Lodge is set in the riverside forest on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the South Luangwa National Park. This classic safari lodge offers our guests all the comforts, while being situated in unspoilt wilderness. With 8 private chalets and 2 luxury suites there is something for all our discerning guests.

Island Bush Camp

This intimate, personalised camp lies under a grove of Mahogany trees in a very game-rich area of the southern section of the park. The Island Bush Camp offers rustic accommodation in grass/reed huts built on stilts that ensure safety from wild animals and provide an unlimited view of the Luangwa River. The 5 chalets are equipped with the modern comforts of hot showers and running water.
