Kafunta Charity Projects

Kafunta School Project

Kafunta Safaris, working in conjunction with the Malambo Charity Foundation (a local Zambian NGO, based in Mfuwe), support the Mfuwe Basic & Secondary School.

We assist the Malambo Charity Foundation by raising funds for the projects.

A Boarding Kitchen for the Mfuwe School

The Mfuwe Basic & Secondary School is a government school which also has a boarding facility for 150 pupils. Children come from a radius of around 70km to the school and stay there the whole week. The boarding facilities are in a very sorry state. 90 boys have to live in just one old house and 68 girls in another old house. There is no running water, no set kitchen and because of that, insufficient cooking utensils and a serious lack of hygiene standards.

Cooking Utensils

The biggest problem is that there is no boarding kitchen at the moment. The boarding pupils have to go out every day to collect firewood and cook the little they have for themselves outdoors, some as young as six years old. The conditions are even worse in the rainy season! Some pupils do not even have enough food for the week as they and their families live in extreme poverty.

With your help we can make a difference to the lives of the children. It is very hard to study on an empty stomach.

Our project is to complete the kitchen, building a proper dining room with tables and benches for the children and supply cutlery and adequate kitchen utensils. Once these facilities are in place, a cook will be employed and thereby catering for the needs of the children.

100% of all donations will go to Malambo Charity Foundation which will be on hand to supervise and oversee the project personally.

Kafunta Safaris would whole-heartedly like to extend many thanks for your kind donation. This is an opportunity to make a significant difference to the children's lives.

Children are our Future!
