Kafunta News, Sightings and Guest Comments
Updates
We offer safaris that includ a few nights at Mwaleshi Camp in North Luangwa. During one of these safaris our client Markus was lucky to see 2 black rhino in the wild! This has been the first sighting in over 20 years as the rhinos where wiped out in the mid 80s. The Frankfurter Zoological Society has reintroduced rhinos into North Luangwa over the last years but these are still held in an enclosure. Two of the rhinos escaped and were seen on the safari!
Safari Sightings
Apart from seeing so many different animals, the highlight was certainly watching a pride of lions, named the Hollywood Pride, due to their very friendly behaviour towards vehicles ... and cameras!
We parked our vehicle a few meters next to two females and their sub-adult cubs and watched them for about one hour. Since I sat in the front of the car, I had a wonderful angle for taking pictures of how they played and greeted each other.

Second time around it was once again the most wonderful experience of a lifetime. The all-day drive produced so much wildlife even more then last year. Many birds, lion cubs, leopards, it was all there. Thanks you so much Martin for again being our guide and friend. Thanks you Anke & Mario for all you did for us and all the hard work Anke had to do. Many thanks.
