Safari along the Zambezi River

Discover some of the remotest rivers in Africa and enjoy the ever changing Luangwa and the untamed Zambezi River, bedded in the Luangwa and Zambezi Valley, they flow though the untouched African wilderness.

Island Bush Camp

The first days are spent at Kafunta River Lodge, which offers the opportunity to explore the game rich Mfuwe area. Game activities at Kafunta River Lodge include game viewing in open vehicles and unique night drives to view nocturnal animals. A two hour drive from Kafunta River Lodge through remote wilderness takes you to Island Bush Camp in the very South of the national park. Island Bush Camp offers rustic bush accommodation in grass/reed huts, build on stilts that ensure safety from wild animals and provide an unlimited view over the Luangwa River. The camp is base for our daily walking safaris, which take place two times a day. In the evening the campfire is the center point to relax and sip a drink.

On return to Mfuwe you will fly to Royal Airstrip in Lower Zambezi only a short distance from Kasaka River Lodge. The next 3 nights are spent discovering the Zambezi River by boat or canoe. The daily activities include game drives and walking safaris in the National Park. The luxury lodge has en-suited tents and is nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River. The river extends the length of the property and there are breathtaking views over the water with sightings of buffalo, elephant, hippo and crocodile.

This safari ends with a short return flight to Lusaka.
