Conducting responsible tourism in the Luangwa Valley means preserving the future for our children. Kafunta Safaris recognises that our quality of life and operation is underpinned by the health of our unique ecosystems and the involved communities. The ecosystems and species here, including ourselves, form an intricate and interconnected web of life which is a treasure in its own right. The natural world contributes to the food we eat and materials we use, the quality of our water and soils, our climate, and ultimately the ability of our environment to support all life. We take responsible tourism very seriously.
Being part of the Luangwa Valley and it’s community, Kafunta knows the importance of integration and support of the people who permanently live in the vicinity of this wonderful piece of Earth. We try to employ staff from the area and train them accordingly but we also try to involve the community in various areas and give them a foundation to create a good future for themselves. We have developed a responsible tourism mission statement to document these ideals.
We are proud members of Pack for a Purpose, an initiative that allows travellers make a big impact on the lives of community at your destination. Use available space in your luggage to provide supplies to communities you visit.
